Clovis is a name steeped in history and nobility, with roots in the very origins of the Kingdom of France. Derived from the Germanic Hlodwig, composed of hlod "glory, renown" and wig "combat, warrior," it literally means "the glorious fighter" or "he who wins glory through combat."
